Success Stories

These are words from the students and families who trusted Ms. Wang with their most important academic moments

From Students

"I'll be majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Johns Hopkins in the fall — and a big part of my love for biology came from your 7th grade class."

This former student tracked Ms. Wang down before graduation day to share the news about heading to Johns Hopkins University to study Molecular and Cellular Biology.

"I still remember dissecting the cow eyeball and the shark and just having an awesome time learning while doing that. I hope you keep inspiring kids like me to go into STEM."

—Kinkaid Student, Johns Hopkins University, Molecular and Cellular Biology

"When I look back at when my love of science truly started to grow, it was in your 7th grade science class."

While a junior in high school, this former student went on to complete research programs at Baylor College of Medicine and spent a summer conducting research at UT under a well-respected professor. She wrote to Ms. Wang four years after leaving her classroom:

"My high school is very STEM-oriented, and I was very nervous about taking Biology my first year. After only a couple of classes, I could honestly say that I was at the top of my class — and the person I must thank is you. You didn't just teach me science — you taught me to love it. The passion you brought to class every day has stayed with me to this day."

"When I was named a U.S. Presidential Scholar Semifinalist, there was no question who my most influential teacher was."

This former student graduated from a STEM early college program, was accepted to the University of Pennsylvania, and was named a U.S. Presidential Scholar Semifinalist — nominating Ms. Wang as the most influential teacher in their academic journey. They also credit her with taking their health concerns seriously at a critical moment:

"You were the only teacher who took my health concerns seriously — you even called my parents. Years later, I found out it was a real condition and got treatment. I've been pain-free ever since. Your class prepared me so well that 9th grade biology felt like a review."

From Parents

"Ms. Wang is one of the most thoughtful and exceptional educators I've ever encountered. My daughter typically resists going to school or extracurricular programs, but Ms. Wang's summer science camp was a complete transformation. She came home excited each day and woke up looking forward to the next session — and even two years later, she still talks about it and asks every summer if she can return."

Ms. Wang creates quality, hands-on, engaging activities that are both educational and genuinely fun. She recognizes and supports the unique needs of each student, providing patient, personalized guidance that allows every child to thrive at their own pace.

"My daughter felt safe, confident, and able to show her best self — something that meant the world to me as a parent.Educators like Ms. Wang are rare, and I'm deeply grateful for the impact she has had on my child."

"I love Ms. Wang — she is very responsive and communicates well with parents. There were pictures sent out every day during camp so I could see what they did and how much fun they had. The kids asked if they could go back, and there were some camps they didn't want to return to at all. I'm sure Ms. Wang did something right."
